The field of robotics could be poised for a breakthrough, leading to a new generation of intelligent machines capable of taking on multiple tasks and moving out of the factory into the home and general workplace. The great success of robots so far has been in automating repetitive tasks in process control and assembly, yielding dramatic cuts in production, but the next step towards cognition and more human-like behaviour has proved elusive. It has been difficult to make robots that can truly learn and adapt to unexpected situations in the way humans can, while it has been equally challenging trying to develop a machine capable of moving smoothly like any animal. There is still no robot capable of walking properly without jerky slightly unbalanced movements.
Although the upper Midwest arguably was the birthplace of the Republican Party, Minnesota has not favored the GOP in a presidential election since 1976. But with an influx of newcomers and a popular Republican governor, the party is hopeful that the convention can woo voters.
This is a community site for computer users ranging from novice to expert, tech junkies, and do-it-yourself types to meet and share stories and ideas. I wanted to let everyone know that within the next two weeks, the arcade will undergo a massive overhaul. In the time since I installed the arcade, and subsequently mass uploaded all 4000+ games, the database has become corrupted. I am getting numerous failed game index reports and I have noticed many lost links to games.
This is going to involve an upgrade to the arcade component, removing most if not all of the games, and then upload the games again. This time I will upload the games much more selectively and increase the number of categories. I will also write better descriptions of what the games consist of and update the arcade ratings system.
Because of the nature of these changes, the current saved arcade scores may be lost. I will try to preserve them as I know that some of you worked hard to get them!
As most of you have noticed, the site looks a little different. If you haven't noticed, lay off the drugs... :)
In an effort to update the look of the site and make it more compatible with the new version of Joomla, I changed the site template to the RocketTheme's Hyperion template. I modified the template slightly so that it is more suited for this site and created new graphics for the site. If you wish to see an example of the original theme please refer to this link.
In addition to the visual changes, I have also changed the menus and some of the administrative sections.
